So this is my blog. Generally I feel like blogging is a weird, self-centered activity (can you take anyone seriously who's like, "hey! check out my blog"?) but seeing as how I'm getting ready to be in Rio de Janeiro for the next six months, it seems like a reasonable way to keep everyone updated on what's going on in my life.
As of right now, here are some general concerns I have regarding Brazil:
- Men's shoes. If I'm facing a semester of leather running shoes...I don't even know what I'll do with myself. This might also impede my quest for a Brazilian Millionaire Boyfriend. Because...yeah, he might be a millionaire but...the shoes?
- Do I even speak Portuguese?
- Buses. According to google maps, my homestay is about a half hour bus ride from campus. Which leads to the serious issue that within my first week of being in Brazil, where I may or may not speak the language, I'll have to be maneuvering a Brazilian bus system. Yeah, ok.
As of right now, these are at the top of my list of "general pre-trip concerns." Along with the fact that I leave in like a week and have yet to pack...or even think about packing.
